Amy’s Story

Coming to Alcove wasn’t my first choice—but it turned out to be the exact choice I needed. Alcove taught me what it feels like to be genuinely cared for and supported. That feeling is what made me stay during the moments I wanted to leave. The women here taught me patience, how to focus on solutions instead of problems, and how to grow—not just in recovery, but as a woman rebuilding her life with intention and strength.

Before Alcove, I struggled to trust women. I didn’t feel safe being my true self around them. This experience completely changed that belief I once held so tightly. The women who walked this journey alongside me may say that I’m the one who did the work—and that’s true—but they did too. They believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself, and that belief helped carry me forward.

Today, as I graduate from Alcove, I know this is not the end—it’s only the beginning. I walk forward with strength, purpose, and a deeper belief in myself than I’ve ever had before.
